Scientific Name: Danio sp. hikari
Availability: Recently introduced into the aquarium hobby. First imported in 2002/2003.
Origin: Myanmar
Overview: While this fish has only been imported for a few years, it is growing quickly in popularity due to it's fantastic colors and easy maintenance.
Compatiblity: Non-aggressive, they should not not be kept with any larger aggressive fish.
Feeding: Not a picky eater, they will eat almost anything offered. Like most of the other danios, they are surface feeders.
Sexing: The females are usually larger and more full bodied. The males are slightly smaller and slimmer.
Breeding: Another very easy to breed fish. Like most of the danios, the major problem is to prevent the adults from eating the eggs or the fry. | | | |
