Common Names: Orange or Yellow Finned Danio Scientific Name: Danio sp. kyathit
Availability: Becoming more widely available throughout the aquarium hobby. Origin: Myanmar Overview: These are truly beautiful fish. Under the right conditions they have a "glowing" blue color. While slightly larger than the Zebra Danio they seem to be less aggressive in their nature. Compatiblity: Non-aggressive, they should not not be kept with any larger aggressive fish. Feeding: Not a picky eater, they will eat almost anything offered. Like most of the other danios, they are surface feeders. Sexing: The females are usually larger and more full bodied. The males are slightly smaller and slimmer. Breeding: A very easy to breed danios. Like most of the danios, the major problem is to prevent the adults from eating the eggs or the fry. |
