Scientific Name: Devario sondhii
Availability: Only recently available in the aquarium hobby.
Origin: Hi land pools in Myanmar, (formerly Burma).
Overview: While this fish has only been imported for a few years, it is growing quickly in popularity due to it's fantastic colors and easy maintenance. These fish are often not shown to their best in the store, but will color-up quickly at home in a nicely planted tank.
Compatiblity: Non-aggressive, they should not not be kept with any larger aggressive fish.
Feeding: Not a picky eater, they will eat almost anything offered. Like most of the other danios, they are surface feeders.
Sexing: The females are usually larger and more full bodied. The males are slightly smaller and slimmer.
Breeding: Some what easy to breed, like most of the danios, the major problem is to prevent the adults from eating the eggs or the fry. | | | |
